Chess helps
to build useful skills

Analysis

Chess teaches children that they don't have to make the first decision that comes to mind. They learn to identify and consider the pros and cons of different actions

Visualization

Children are encouraged to imagine a sequence of actions before it happens. Chess enhances the ability to visualize by learning the movement of pieces in one’s mind (without moving them on the board), first one, and then several moves.

Forecasting

Children are taught to think first and only then to act. With the help of chess, we teach them to ask themselves a question like "If I do this, what can happen next, and how can I answer?" and answer it. Over time, chess helps to develop patience and thoughtfulness.

Planning

Children learn to build long-term goals and take measures to achieve them, and also to change their plans depending on the situation.

Abstract thinking

Children learn step by step to consider first the details, and then the whole picture as a whole. They learn skills used in some situations and apply them in other but similar ones.

How are the lessons going?

We use Zoom and chess platforms lichess.org and chess.com for our lessons

1. At the appointed time, you need to join the conference and follow the link to the teacher's room.
The student will see the teacher's screen and everything necessary for the lesson
topics and tasks.

2. At the end of the lesson, the teacher gives home tasks. They will be located in a separate studio
at www.lichess.org or sent as a picture
to the group chat in the messenger.

Where to begin?

Before the start of training, we invite each new student to take an individual orientation lesson.

The trial lesson allows you to:
  • Determine your level
  • Choose a group suitable for the level
  • Create an individual training plan
  • Test the format of online chess training
  • Check the equipment and solve connection issues
    before the start of training

What to do if the child misses a class?

In this case, the child can take this lesson in an identical group or enroll in an individual lesson. Also, the trainer usually briefly repeats the topics of the previous lesson in the next lesson.

If the lessons in a group have already started, is it possible to join the group?

Yes, you can, but only if you have missed no more than four classes.

Can I change groups?

You can go to a higher group subject to availability, upon agreement with the teacher.

Can adults take lessons? Are there programs and courses for them?

Yes, absolutely, you can enroll in groups for adults or take an individual lesson.

How do I get a chess rank?

To get a sports category, it is necessary to participate in an official competition. In general, the ranks are losing their relevance nowadays. The ratings assigned by the Chess Federation of Russia and FIDE are more valuable, and can be obtained by performing in various competitions. Usually the organizers of the competition indicate whether there will be rating calculations.
